According to different box office experts the leak of the newest “New Moon” trailer that happened Thursday night, could have helped contribute to the poor ticket sales of the movie “BandSlam”.
Summit Entertainment main marketing campaign was attaching an exclusive trailer to “the Twilight Saga: New Moon” to the front of “BandSlam”. According to Jeff Bock relying on a trailer to get ticket sales is very risky
“Whether or not you attach an exclusive trailer onto a film,it will be available online for download practically minutes after it debuts.”
The trailer was leaked last week, first in the form a french speaking trailer which Summit pulled as quickly as possible, and then in the English form.
Speaking of the trailer, I am very aware the trailer, however it was posted illegally. Therefore we will not be posting the trailer until Summit releases an official version.
